It’s the Little Things
Everyday activities to help maintain your fitness
No time for fitness? You can still be active with these easy ways to get off your butt and get moving.
- Stand up at work. Replace your sitting desk with a standing one, or get up and take a few five-minute walks around the office during the day.
- Replace your desk chair with an exercise ball. You’ll engage more of your muscles while you sit.
- Ride a bike to work instead of driving or taking the bus.
- Do household tasks by hand. Use a bucket and sponge to clean the floors rather than a mop, hand-wash your car, or wash and dry dishes yourself.
- Plant a garden. Maintaining a garden is an easy and fun way to be active outside.
- Bring a refillable water bottle to work. You’ll stay hydrated and save money.
- Prepare healthful snacks the night before.
- Skip the elevator and take the stairs.
- Park farther away everywhere you go. The extra steps will add up.
