Contemporary Art 101

Come to Urban Arts Space for a discussion-based tour of Open This End: Contemporary Art from the Collection of Blake Byrne, and experience contemporary art from the last 50 years led by our student education team. You will be able to ask questions, engage in conversation, and challenge the notions of what makes art “art” in a friendly and welcoming environment! No art making, or art history experience necessary.

Contemporary Art 101 includes a guided tour of the exhibition, focusing on Breaking down the barriers between “high” and “low” forms of art and culture, and a lesson on book-binding, and making personalized sketch books with all supplies included. Come meet new friends, learn about art, make a craft, take some selfies, and have fun!
