This Friday, Ohio’s own Walk the Moon will bring its energetic, paint-splattered live performance to a sold out LC Pavilion.
Walk the Moon’s live concert has been turning heads since early shows in its hometown of Cincinnati. The band members are known for wearing neon face paint at live performances, and audience members will likely become a sea of bright colors as they imitate this style.
Fans should also expect spirited dancing both on stage and in the crowd. Frontman Nicholas Petricca finds plenty of space to move around and frequently encourages audience participation.
The success of Walk the Moon’s latest album, Talking Is Hard, has earned the four-piece dance-rock group considerably more attention than it’s seen in the past.
Last October, the band played to a much smaller crowd when it visited The Basement, a venue located beside the LC but holding only a few hundred people. At the LC’s outdoor stage, the group will perform to over 5,000 people.
Walk the Moon released its third album on Dec. 2 to noteworthy chart success. The album reached number 14 on the Billboard charts with its infectiously catchy single “Shut Up and Dance” breaking into the top five.
The LC performance will give Walk the Moon a chance to show off their hit single in addition to other new songs and longtime fan favorites. Talking Is Hard’s upbeat “Work This Body” will get fans on their feet while older tracks such as the anthemic “Anna Sun” and propulsive “Tightrope” are sure to provoke massive sing-a-longs.
