Shadowbox Academy invites you to experience the thrill of live entertainment at its one-night event on August 5 at 7:30 p.m.
The annual Bootcamp Showcase offers a unique opportunity to see some of Columbus’ best up-and-coming talent all at once.
At the Bootcamp Showcase 2016, these professional and student performers team up to present a two-hour sketch comedy and rock-n-roll show you’re not likely to forget.
“This is not a kids’ talent show,” says Shadowbox Live Director of Education Stacie Boord. “People are always amazed at the quality of the production highlighting such young talent.”
Shadowbox’s Summer Bootcamp is an intensive program that offers master class workshops in singing, dancing, acting and musicianship from active Shadowbox Live performers. Twenty students between the ages of 15 and 21 have spent three weeks honing their skills with professional artists at Shadowbox Live. They also learned about arts administration, production and professionalism.
“These students are learning from professionals who are still in the business. … We are able to relay real life performance experiences that happened just last week,” says Boord.
The camp not only helps future performers, it also helps Shadowbox performers keep their skills sharp.
“As a professional performer, teaching students your craft brings clarity to your art form,” says Boord. “The process of justifying your choices and approaches makes you a better performer.”
Pricing starts at $30 for general admission, $25 for students and senior citizens and $10 for kids 12 and under. VIP tables are also available. Click here to purchase tickets online. For more information, check out www.shadowboxlive.org or call 614-416-7625.
