As summer begins, Shadowbox Live is bringing back their greatest hits for the annual show The Best of Shadowbox 2016, giving audiences a chance to relive their favorite moments as well as experience new ones they may have missed.
The two-hour highlight reel will feature the best songs and sketches from the previous Shadowbox Live shows performed throughout the previous 2015-2016 season. This includes selections from their shows 50 Shades of Shadowbox 2016, Screamers 2015 and Reckless 2015.
The performance will contain covers of popular songs such as “Sexual Healing” by Marvin Gaye, “Ex’s & Oh’s” by Elle King, “Paralyzer” by Finger Eleven, “Paradise by the Dashboard Lights” by Meatloaf, “Headstrong” by Trapt, “Life in the Fast Lane” by The Eagles and “Runaway” by Linkin Park. The show will also see the return of “Walk on the Ocean” by Toad the Wet Sprocket, which was last performed at Smoke and Mirrors in 2012.
Shadowbox Live is a non-profit ensemble and is the largest resident theater company in America, producing over 500 shows per year. Shows offer a wide variety of performances including sketch comedy, rock ’n’ roll, rock operas, musicals, drama, dance theater and new media. The performances emphasize giving an unparalleled live experience for audiences.
The Best of Shadowbox 2016 opens Thursday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Shadowbox Live on Front Street. The show will run most Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. through Sept. 3.
