The all-American pastime, baseball, is about to be stormed by the Irish.
The Columbus Clippers are set to host the 5th annual Irish Heritage Night on July 9 at Huntington Park.
The Dublin Irish Festival is the largest three-day festival on the planet, celebrating Irish dance, music, art and culture. Game attendees can get into the spirit at Saturday's game before the festival takes place August 5, 6 and 7.
Before the start of the game, head out to the right field plaza for Party in the Park. Central Ohio Celtic/rock band, Homeland, will take the stage from 5:40-7 p.m.
Other entertainers for the event include traditional Scottish-style pipe band, Cyril Scott Pipe Band, complete with bagpipes and various types of drums. Dancers from Richens/Timm Academy of Irish Dance are also set to perform.
Attendees will get a sneak peak of what's to come as all three of the acts performing Saturday are among the 65 acts scheduled to perform on the seven stages of the Dublin Irish Festival next month.
To kick off the game, Dublin Irish Festival Honorary Chair, Ed Gaughan, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Gaughan is president of the County Mayo Corporation and has been a supporter of the festival for over 10 years.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. with the Columbus Clippers, Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, taking on the Indianapolis Indians, Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Tickets are available online via Ticketmaster starting at $9.75 including fees as well as at the gate on the day of the event.
