Child-like and sophisticated are two words used to describe Rick Borg's artwork in his new exhibition “Honest Paintings on Wood.” This exhibition will feature some new works, many of which are three-dimensional pieces created with found objects and repurposed items and covered in multiple layers of paint. Van Gogh and William Hawkins have influenced Borg's folk-art style and bold use of color
Growing up in Worthington Bord attended Thomas Worthington High School and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree at The Ohio State University. He is now a full-time painter and paints in his studio at the historic Milo Arts Center. In addition to painting, Borg enjoys playing golf and was a member of the 1979 NCAA Championship Men's Golf Team, an All-American golfer and played on the U.S. Pro Tour in the 80's.
Borg's work has been exhibited at several galleries in Ohio including the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Nelsonville Opera house, ROY G BIV Gallery and Ohio Gallery.
