Ed Piskor has been awarded the second annual Graphic Novelist Residency by the Columbus Museum of Art and the Thurber House. Piskor began working with Harvey Pekar, an underground comics legend, at age 21 and has since published Wizzywig, a graphic novel about the history of hacking. He is also publishing a weekly comic at BoingBoing.net called The Hip Hop Family Tree.
According to the Columbus Museum of Art and the Thurber House, this residency is a three-week program for Piskor to develop a work-in-progress piece. During this time he will receive a stipend and housing in author and cartoonist James Thurber’s historic home.
