Local bars and restaurants are brewing up a storm for Columbus Craft Beer Week presented by Giant Eagle. It will be a chance to experience the booming Columbus craft beer scene’s creativity and collaboration from May 13-21.
Following last year’s sensational success, participating venues are boasting more than 200 special events spread over nine days. There will be specialty beer releases, tap takeovers, charitable events and chances to meet the brewers.
“The guild’s partnership with wholesale distributors, retailers and breweries enables us to create a phenomenal schedule of events and activities that highlight the best of craft beer locally, regionally, nationally and internationally,” says Mary MacDonald, executive director of the Ohio Craft Brewers Association.

Looking for a beer that tastes quintessentially Ohioan? Look no further.
In April, local breweries began working together, each supplying an ingredient for the final recipe of a specialty beer to be brewed at the North High Brewing Production facility. On Friday, May 13, beer fans will gather in the Giant Eagle Market District Grandview Yard to taste the one-of-a-kind collaboration beer and kick off the week.
Also on tap is Six One Pour: The Ohio Craft Beer Fest presented by Chipotle Mexican Grill on Friday, May 20 at Huntington Park. The festival will feature live music, a special menu by Chipotle Mexican Grill and fifty Ohio craft breweries supplying samples of their specialty brews.
General admission tickets for the Ohio Craft Beer Fest are $50 in advance; tickets include a souvenir glass and 20 tasting tickets for 4-ounce samples. VIP tickets are also available for $75 and they include access to a VIP members only section and free food from Chipotle Mexican Grill.
Designated driver tickets are $12, and include a non-alcoholic beverage.
