Graeter’s Ice Cream will kick off the Cones for the Cure campaign with free cones of Elena’s Blueberry Pie ice cream Sept. 4 and Sept. 16 from 3 – 8 p.m. each day.
The flavor’s name commemorates Elena Desserich, a pediatric brain cancer patient who passed away after fighting the disease. Graeter’s will permanently carry the flavor in her honor.
Guests are welcome to donate $1 or $5 to the cause. Five dollar donators will receive a gift booklet with more than $20 worth of Graeter’s savings.
While free cones are given out two days during the campaign, donations will be accepted from Sept. 4 to Sept. 16.
All proceeds will benefit The Cure Starts Now Foundation.
