They’ve accomplished many fitness goals and run marathons. Now the members of the Dublin running group Two Fat Guys Running (2FGR) have dedicated themselves to hosting a run with a philanthropic purpose.
The group will host its first 2FGR Run for the Central Ohio Down Syndrome Society (CODSS) May 20 in Dublin. The 5K run/walk and kids’ fun run/walk begins at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (5600 Post Rd., Dublin) with registration at 6 p.m. and the race at 7 p.m.
Entry fees for participating adults are $25 per person before May 10 and $30 from May 10 until race day. The fee includes a technical race shirt, post race beverages and snacks provided by Panera Bread. The cost for kids participating in the fun run/walk is $10. Awards will be presented to top finishers.
Proceeds from the run benefit the Central Ohio Down Syndrome Society. According to its Web site, CODSS is “an independent not-for-profit corporation that empowers individuals and families living with Down syndrome by advancing the cause of research, advocating on their behalf and educating them on life skills that enable them to lead meaningful, independent and healthy lives.”
