Fitness Frenzy

 

Make a resolution to stay fit in 2010 and take part in these Upper Arlington-area activities:

Columbus Running Club’s Social Runs: 6 p.m., every Tuesday, all year. Antrim Park, 5800 Olentangy River Rd. Join others in a social run around the park. Each week this team meets at the kiosk in the parking lot for a 5- to 7-mile run heading north on Olentangy River Road’s bike route. For directions, visit www.columbusrunningclub.com.

Women’s Only Boot Camps: 5:30-6:30 a.m., Jan. 4–29 or Feb. 8-March 5, Hastings Middle School, 1850 Hastings Ln. Each boot camp includes 20 one-hour workouts, one hour nutrition seminar, a before and after assessment, and a T-shirt. Memorial Day Run: 7 a.m., May 31. Participate in the oldest running event in Columbus. This 5-mile course winds through the streets of Upper Arlington. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. Registration costs $25 until May 18 and $30 after. All proceeds benefit the Upper Arlington Civic Association. Labor Neighbor Day: 8 a.m., Sept. 6, Northam Park, 2800 Tremont Rd. This annual event features multiple fun activities. Bike races will take place in the morning, consisting of sprint races for boys and girls in various age divisions. In the afternoon, grab the family for the Wiffle ball tournament in Northam Park.
