It’s time to bring out that scarlet and gray apparel for this weekend’s grand finale performance of Picnic with the Pops.
The 33rd season of Picnic with the Pops will close with a bang on Friday and Saturday night. It will be the last chance of the year to experience this unique outdoor collaborative performance with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
Taking the stage with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra will be the “Best Damn Band in the Land,” The Ohio State University Marching Band.
Unlike the other Picnic with the Pops performances of the season, the OSU Marching Band show will last two nights as is tradition, both of which kick off at 8 in the evening.
Preceding the performance is a tailgate party at the Columbus Commons. So pack a picnic and bring some friends for the full Picnic with the Pops experience. There will also be food available for purchase on-site from a series of vendors.
This finale performance is also unique in that the night will culminate with a fireworks display.
Picnic with the Pops has had an innovative season thus far, with performances featuring artists such as Nelly, a David Bowie tribute band, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls and more.
Admission is $25 for adults and $10 for ages 3-14. Children 2 and under are free. The tickets can be purchased on site on the night of the performance at either the Rich Street or State Street entrances to the Columbus Commons. Click here to purchase tickets online in advance.
Parking can also be reserved ahead of time for either the Main Garage or the Underground Garage. For more information or reserving a spot, click here.
